'Cause in-the-moment I supect if someone was attacking you with clear murderous intent you'd be OK with me putting a brick through their head. And I suspect I'd be OK with it too.

Perhaps, if we had perfect confidence that our justice systems did not produce wrongful convictions fairly frequently. But only perhaps.

No||yes. I've joined the crusade against the death penalty, so I can't abide it. Ever. You MIGHT possibly have a reason for supporting, but I just don't know.

If those circumstances are total infallibility in regards to whether or not the person is guilty of the crime and to what degree.
The rest after that comes down to whether or not you or I consider it ethical.

As previously mentioned, capital punishment seems to be a possible solution in societies without secure prisons or borders (which I am most familiar with in post-apocalyptic fiction), but in our country...no.

I don't believe there is a heaven nor hell. That means that those who have done terrible things will not be punished for their crimes of they are killed off. Their consciousness will end and they will no longer suffer for their actions. Death is an escape. Hitler knew that.
