This. Free movement of people generally only improves things for everyone and I can't see any justification for general restrictions. A few specific cases keeping out convicted criminals and such make some degree of sense (although even then it's dubious).

I do support essentially this policy for my own country right now, but I wouldn't impose it on all countries at all times.

Nah, I'd sooner press a button that made refugee status impossible, and working visas/residency permits moderately easier. UN refugee treaty has been abused to the death in all but name of some nations. It drains domestic resources and only incentivises failure and strife.
