I suspect most systemic oppression is a myth. But it's very commonly used as an important concept in America, and I wanna make sure I'm not missing anything - can someone steelman systemic oppression for me - what it means exactly, and if that definition is supported by data?

I haven't done a deep dive; I agree that some evidence suggests (nonconclusively) that there's a racial correlation with IQ. I haven't seen enough evidence to be convinced that this is a significant effect though.

....wut? Are you aware of the size of the differences, at all? Both internationally and domestically? Can't believe you have spent seven years in the rationalist community, and yet is somehow skeptical about something as utterly basic as race differences in intelligence.

But, controlled for things? I'm not against race and IQ correlation on principle; I do agree that in this moment if you test IQ you will find it to be correlated possibly significantly with race. I'm less convinced about how strong this is genetically though. I'm open tho.

"If" there is a IQ difference between races? What? The existence of a 15-point IQ gap between US whites and blacks is the official position of the American Psychological Association. No scientist believes the phenotypic gap is less than 9 points. There is no "if" about it.

Sorry, I definitely agree there is a gap, I meant genetically

Measurable environmental effects account for almost nothing. Genes account for at least 50%
