I suspect most systemic oppression is a myth. But it's very commonly used as an important concept in America, and I wanna make sure I'm not missing anything - can someone steelman systemic oppression for me - what it means exactly, and if that definition is supported by data?

Yeah. This is why you don't understand systemic/systematic oppression. Everything can't be condensed down to numbers. Like, people consistently select lower prices over more legroom on airlines, but that doesn't mean people want less legroom. But you learn that by asking ppl.

If you only studied price data, you might think "price is the only factor people consider important when selecting a flight." But that's obviously not true. The same applies to certain forms of oppression. The effects are not obvious to someone who only examines certain datasets.
