I suspect most systemic oppression is a myth. But it's very commonly used as an important concept in America, and I wanna make sure I'm not missing anything - can someone steelman systemic oppression for me - what it means exactly, and if that definition is supported by data?

I can point to a problem with that study in the first paragraph. All the calls were in only two cities.

If you want to study systemic oppression, you literally have to study the entire system. Community demo is the largest factor in whether a group encounters police more or less. It would be disproportional oppression if white people encountered more police in Harlem than blacks.

Just because evidence is limited doesn't mean it's not evidence. I'm taking it as an inconclusive point leaning in the direction of racism in some areas.

I don't really get the resistance. Why are you all so skeptical that a society with a long history of racism is racist? If you accept that America was racist in the 60s, please tell me when America stopped being racist.
