I suspect most systemic oppression is a myth. But it's very commonly used as an important concept in America, and I wanna make sure I'm not missing anything - can someone steelman systemic oppression for me - what it means exactly, and if that definition is supported by data?

Nothing has been studied more than systematic oppression(sexism, racism, et al). It has been proven conclusively. Individually it is nearly impossible to prove but on the level of society, it's proven.

What are you expecting? How could someone steelman the existence of systemic oppression in general? It's only even possible to steelman its existence in specific instances, so why be dismissive when exactly that is done?

“Systemic oppression in specific cases” seems oxymoronic to me, but what do I know? I’ve still not seen a definition in the comments.
