Men are assaulted by strangers more than women are. I don't get the disparity, where women are much more scared of strangers than men are. It seems like either hysteria or a stiff upper lip, depending on which gender we wanna blame here

I haven't looked into this wrt to pure assault but last time I researched domestics assault statistics the rate of admittance to emergency rooms was way higher for women than for men even though the rate of assault was around the same, implying women are more in danger of injury

we're a few layers deep into 'i remember the stats said' land, but if i'm goin with it then could this be due to the fact men are much less likely to seek medical attention overall?

because the main factor here is that it's men and men are more likely to go for weaker targets which are typically women/non-men. men are the main perpetrators regardless of the gender of their victims and women in general feel more powerless to stop it.

Men are - in general - better built to handle assault than women. Especially if the assault is from the front. The hysteria may be more due to class or cultural issues. Do women from a poorer country have the same level of worry and helplessness as middle-class American women?
