The total lack of any sympathy for the difficulties of the very wealthy often reveals an underlying belief that all *your* difficulties in life are a result of simply not having enough money.
Not quite, but I see what you're getting at. Rich people are human, & it's easy to forget that. But make no mistake: the wealthy have more resources, period. More resources mean better odds of overcoming said difficulties. That's the difference, & it's a significant one.
As I've gained more resources, some things have gotten easier. Other things have been totally independent of being solved by material goods, such as my own insecurities and deep fears.
Wealth creates advantage. That doesn't make it evil, but it's still an advantage. And so it's not unreasonable for those to be more sympathetic of people who don't have an advantage.
Insecurity? Deep fear? Those aren't problems. The children of the poor will have shorter lives, be sick more often, have lower IQs, have food insecurity, they are more likely to end up in prison, and to die young. The problems of the wealthy aren't problems.
I'll take your insecurities and fears over being stuck a quarter million in medical debt, payday loan loops, a 20 year old car being between me and unemployment if it breaks down, being uncertain if the children can have dinner tonight, and hoping the electricity isn't shut off.
