THREAD: What to know when tripsitting people on very high doses of acid: I used to do this a lot, like an idiot. The most common effect afterwards for very high doses (500ug+) was loss of memory, particularly if they hadn't done much acid before. I've seen total memory loss occur

2/at doses as low as 300ug. You can usually predict when they're going to have post-trip memory loss by their short-term memory length while tripping. The higher the dose, the shorter their short-term memory. You can see this with looping, where people forget the last-

3/loop they've had. Loop time often corresponds to intensity of dose; I've seen a loop time of 2 seconds at 1000ug; 15 seconds at 300ug, and 60 seconds at 200ug. Post-trip memory loss seems to correspond with loop times of around roughly 20-30 seconds.

4/When tripsitting people who have fast loops, you can experiment with what helps them. A few times I've had to literally sit on top of people. I was worried it might be making their trip worse, but their loop was so fast they forgot what was happening before they could be upset.

5/Try to have patience with their loops. If they're asking "where am I?" answer them, over and over and over again. If they seem to respond well to an assurance, then make that assurance over and over again. Try varying your tone, because sometimes they can still register that-

6/something weird is happening if you're saying exactly the same thing in exactly the same way two hundred times in a row. With fast loops, your goal as a tripsitter is to maintain, not to connect. You absolutely cannot connect or communicate with these people beyond-

7/the extreme, immediate basics. Don't worry too much about what you're doing; they aren't in tune with you. Make sure they don't hit their head, be a stable presence that responds immediately to things they need, and try to anticipate their needs (e.g., put a blanket on them).

Seriously what kind of people do you tripsit? This totally doesn't align for me at all. I'm kinda worried the loops are because they can't let go and break out due to an overly salient misattunement with the other presence.

I've tripsat... idk, 50-60 people of all sorts. I've tried to predict how people will respond to acid based on all sorts of things (how chill they seem, how smart they are, their age) and nothing seems to correspond.

Damn that's a lot! But not trying to be snarky, but have you tried just... Feeling them out? Trying to get on their wave length? Maybe with a minimal dose yourself? The kind of communication where the normal conceptual structures and their rigidity predominate, can unsettle.

oh man yeah. Sometimes I was on acid myself. Many of these trips took place during a period where I was dosing heavily on average once a week. I wrote a guide if you wanna see if you jive with my philosophy:https://knowingless.com/2017/08/11/tripsitting-tips-and-tricks/ …

Thanks that's interesting to read! I think most resonates, but I think loops are a tricky one. I personally feel like overly cautious redirections, or feeding that loop by digging into what's upsetting them, can sometimes be the wrong approach. I think there, they need energy -

Basically pushing them out of this loopy "well", or "valley", towards new planes of exploration. I noticed a positive and open attitude, minimally connected to where you're getting them away from, helps. I sometimes just give them new ideas or things to play with or explore.
