THREAD: What to know when tripsitting people on very high doses of acid: I used to do this a lot, like an idiot. The most common effect afterwards for very high doses (500ug+) was loss of memory, particularly if they hadn't done much acid before. I've seen total memory loss occur

2/at doses as low as 300ug. You can usually predict when they're going to have post-trip memory loss by their short-term memory length while tripping. The higher the dose, the shorter their short-term memory. You can see this with looping, where people forget the last-

3/loop they've had. Loop time often corresponds to intensity of dose; I've seen a loop time of 2 seconds at 1000ug; 15 seconds at 300ug, and 60 seconds at 200ug. Post-trip memory loss seems to correspond with loop times of around roughly 20-30 seconds.

4/When tripsitting people who have fast loops, you can experiment with what helps them. A few times I've had to literally sit on top of people. I was worried it might be making their trip worse, but their loop was so fast they forgot what was happening before they could be upset.

5/Try to have patience with their loops. If they're asking "where am I?" answer them, over and over and over again. If they seem to respond well to an assurance, then make that assurance over and over again. Try varying your tone, because sometimes they can still register that-

6/something weird is happening if you're saying exactly the same thing in exactly the same way two hundred times in a row. With fast loops, your goal as a tripsitter is to maintain, not to connect. You absolutely cannot connect or communicate with these people beyond-

7/the extreme, immediate basics. Don't worry too much about what you're doing; they aren't in tune with you. Make sure they don't hit their head, be a stable presence that responds immediately to things they need, and try to anticipate their needs (e.g., put a blanket on them).

8/You might think that if a trip gets too intense, you can eat a xanax and it'll kill the trip. This is often true, but keep in mind it can be extremely hard to get someone with a fast loop to actually take a pill, so don't count on that being an option beforehand.

The looping is quite painful and fearful to experience. I just wanted to die. I tried to make myself die by not breathing. I don’t know if that’s possible, would most people just pass out before then? Someone more coherent than I was telling me to breathe. I was in bad shape.

I think looping is *sometimes* very painful and fearful, yes. I've seen a few bad loops. Some people's loops are just confusing or weird, like in an intense dream. I'm sorry you had to experience that. :(

Not if the looping is strong enough. All the looping I'm talking about here I've witnessed as consistent, across hours of time, definitely surpassing many stages of music.

This advice will probably never be useful for me but still super interesting. You should check out a book called “moonwalking with Einstein”

I think the largest dose I had was around 300 and I handled that relatively well. What made me stop acid was having a weird trip that gave me something close to night terrors but while I was awake.

the only time i tried to feed someone xanax was when he was slamming his head into the floor repeatedly and screaming loud enough to disturb the neighbors
