Damn, people were sitting in boiling water for six minutes. Looks the dead guy suffered third-degree burns. In awe at anyone who would take that much damage for a competition

Can anybody explain how people can survive at all in temperatures that are literally above the boiling point of water? The guy who died had third degree burns - was this the norm in the competition? Did the contestants breathe?

The runner up survived by losing his hands and lots of skin peeling off.
