You clearly have never needed to hire a contractor to do home repairs.

Contractor fraud is a huge issue. People can easily lose tens of thousands of dollars to someone who showed every sign of being reliable, but who skips out on the job.
-
Well they were arrested for doing home repairs without a license. I have a friend who was ripped off by a licensed contractor. License don’t make people honest. The larger issue is economic freedom. Can you hire someone to fix your sink without the government regulating it?

I hate regulation but I have seen the damage people can do with terrible jobs and man... it really is preying on people.
-
But that doesn't have anything to do with licensing; these people basically just were filmed agreeing to perform a job (like painting) that they hadn't paid the government for a permit to do.

Wow this is awful. This police department is basically evil in the most mundane sort of way. Ruining the lives of working class Americans who are simply trying to engage in a trade, and then gloating over that.
