This is the most incoherent thing I’ve read in a while. There’s hardly any discussion of dysphoria or bodies but lots of talk about fashion. These people think “gender identity” is something akin to the soul but the way they talk about it is pure style.https://www.teenvogue.com/story/trans-masculine-non-binary-conversation-affirmation-identity-beauty …

I'm increasingly viewing non-binaryness as more an expression of trauma and a desire to be understood as not a typical [insert birth sex here], and less to do about gender itself at all.

But I don't understand what it is! I'm not strictly against gender identity existing, but how do I know it's not like.. a collective hallucination by people who haven't introspected hard enough yet?

I understand gender dysphoria through the lens of body dysphoria; something in the brain freaks out and says 'this body is wrong.' Likewise, something in the brain freaks out and says 'this pink color is wrong for a shirt' or something?
