On a pain scale from 1-10, what is the lowest level that prevents you from sleeping?

Strong toothache do, it's 6-7 probably.
Second degree sun burns don't, they are like 5.

If the pain is so severe that it prevents me from sleeping, surely that is automatically high on the pain scale? 🤔

As someone who has had some seriously bad back problems I learned to sleep through it, although it's not great quality sleep. Hope this isn't related to issues you are having!

Really the only pain I've had that has impacted sleep has been tooth ache. I've slept through broken bones, torn ligaments, back pain, etc. I cracked a tooth once and it got infected before I could see a Dr, I actually considered pulling it out myself due to the ridiculous pain.

Psychological pain, doesn't take too much to lose sleep

Can be surprisingly low! My mom taught me to take a Tylenol if I couldn't sleep, in case it was actually some low-level pain preventing me from sleeping, and actually it works about half the time.

I'd be interested if anyone has noticed that pain tends to drop off when you need to sleep, not because you are relaxed (etc) but in a way that makes no sense other than perhaps your body dialling it down so you can sleep.
