Should children in early puberty be allowed puberty blockers, given they strongly and consistently have been asking for them and also experience gender dysphoria?
Should children in early puberty be allowed puberty accelerants (such as anabolic steroids), given they strongly and consistently have been asking for them and also experience gender affiliation?
This would be an easy no, if it weren't for the fact that these blockers are much more effective than any other gender reassignment therapy later in life.
This is hard because often kids genuinely don't know what they really want. Hell when puberty was first hitting me I'd literally try to pluck out chest hairs simply because I didn't want to grow up.
Man I wouldn't let them choose their own diet but I'm still unsure. I'd say that's between their physician and legal guardian. Preferably with a second opinion.
Puberty blockers just put a pause on puberty. They can easily go off of them to start the puberty process if they change their mind. Kids don't understand some things, but gender identity is something we tend to figure out in early childhood. Trans people rarely detransition.
Should children in early puberty be given cocaine, given the strongly and consistently have been asking for it and also experience fatigue?
Insert drug and excuse of your choice. The answer is no.
You'd think postponing an irreversible process that could make someone miserable for the rest of their lives till they're older would take precedence over an inexplicable need to disregard children's own agency and have strangers decide for them instead, but you'd be wrong.
