Not anymore. For over 35 years, I lived in Fairfield. Fairfield is in the North Bay, in Solano county and used to not be considered part of the "Bay Area" proper, although it is, as Solano is one of the 9 Bay Area counties. Now I live in Carmichael, which is far nicer.
