Would you support a law that required vaccination of children, with force if necessary (given all other methods such as fines or banning from school have already been tried)?

I dont trust the government to make a reasonable decision about what's a "mandatory" vaccination treatment. Lot of money to be made if your medicine is "required" and the pharma lobby is so powerful that I fear they would use a law like this as a cudgel to push product.

This question is a great way to examine how much we value group preferences compared with individual preferences! You could correct for emotional responses by also asking the question with “microchipping” instead of “vaccination” and average the results 🤓

Force is a drastic measure, warranted by only by active, direct threat to life. Polio and tuberculosis have been essentially eradicated in the West without any recourse to force.

Eradication doesn't mean it won't come back. Small pox was eradicated in India but made a small come back in recent years. A lot of these diseases are indeed life threatening

I am very far from anti-vax and if I have children I definitely intend to have them vaccinated. And I think anti-vaxxers deserve the ridicule they get. But I am not going to support forcing vaccinations on people who don't want them.

One does not want a heterogeneous population: be it vaccinated or unvaccinated; idiots voluntarily opting out achieves this.

We should do it the old-fashioned way: You don’t have to get vaccinated, but you are quarantined if you don’t. You can’t go out in public unless vaccinated.

No, I think anti-vaxxers should just be prohibited from other parts of society and essentially ostracized into quarantine. If you don't want to follow the group's rules, you don't get to be in the group.

Children should be vaccinated, full stop. But violence to do it? No. That's a bridge too far.
