When someone says #IAmNonbinary, your gut intuitive process registers this primarily as:
A) A desire to signal that they have traits/preferences atypical for their birth sex ('man likes skirts')
B) They are neither male nor female
C) This is a symptom of trauma or mental illness

My best suggestion is to ask whether your audience has had a lengthy discussion on non-binary/alternative genders with someone who identifies as such face to face (separate poll for lengthy online discussions). At least for 30 minutes of discussion or more. That’s my take.

I wish there was a 4th option. Something less strident than choice c There's scientific backing for this complex view of gender identity, but I think there is an outgrowth of people that claim to be on this boat for reasons related to signaling or ideological status.
