arms (and thus your shoulders too because it's all locked in) on the same plane - like sliding back and forth horizontally. There should be no tilt; your hands should not be moving up or down at all. You may not be able to slide very far; that's okay.

ofc stuff like crunches and planks also are really great, though the above ones i listed incorporate some stuff like balance or abdominal isolation to some extent which is double useful for some moves in dance.
