i sometimes teach dance and a lot of 'not being good at it' is imo the amount of fear stuck into your limbs and muscles. You can just see it, like this mental hangup that's restricting what the body can do. I've been slowly trying to rework my classes into addressing that first.

I don't know - there's lots of different types of practice. Most people learn social dance through "large group in circle" format, and I've seen people go through that for literally years without losing the fear in their limbs.
Replying to and
Practicing 'shallow' (like in a big group class) and in front of others is a terrible way to learn imo, and is much more likely to keep fear in your body because you're self conscious and also tightly constrained in what you're doing with intense delays in feedback.
