Have you ever done intentional 'emotion exercising' - where you become still and then call forth an emotion, feel it as hard as you can, and then switch to another one, practicing the ability to call, dismiss, and switch as quickly/precisely as possible?

Its sort of like what music performance is. (done well, at least). once you know a piece & can play it 'right', then its mostly just focusing on how it makes you feel, and emphasizing the parts that trigger the emotion, such that it translates more effectively to an audience
