I absolutely think a lot (most? nearly all?) trans people are trans because of default brain wiring or something, but I wonder what percentage are MtF cause they felt like they could never be a successful man, and because there's a clear community/path to acceptance for trans ppl

Sure, I'm open to that argument, but I'm assuming it's possible someone from the outside wouldn't know it's not worth it before starting to try transitioning. I also assume people who do it for social reasons tend to detransition.

That's doing two things, though, which is missing the point that being a transgendered person is not entirely lead by a social drive but an internal one, and demonizing gender expression experimentation for someone curious about themselves.
