Respect Muslims. Love Muslims. Invite them to be your neighbors, your friends. Be a champion for their rights, oppose anti-Muslim hate. You don't have to believe the same things Muslims believe to do this. That would be ridiculous. I feel similarly about trans people.

It doesn't matter if you share their models on gender or not, or their models on themselves - you don't have to agree with each other in order to treat them as they want to be treated, or to fight hate together, or to show respect and love.

I personally believe that the vast majority of trans people experience legitimate gender dysphoria, and I support treatment by transition. I don't know if I agree with the further philosophical implications of gender, which feels grey and fuzzy! But I still support them.

This seems like the start of a much more confusing debate, the further we get into the tech to self-modify. I don't know what the answer is but I suspect the hard and fast traditional rules aren't gonna cut it in the future.

One can support a person, and at the same time disagree with them. Also, activists are often not exactly representing the "normal" people in the group they claim to speak for.

My view as well right up to (not including) supporting transition. But also understand that makes me considered a hater and an understandable response to being called a hater especially loudly and annoyingly is frankly to overreact.
