Love this take -- and might I suggest that perhaps we are faced with real scarcity of belonging? Saying that there is no "actual" resource scarcity implies that we are somehow wrong, when belonging is something that we all in fact ACTUALLY need

I think mine is 🔥 - I think it's a consequence of scarce of access to community (secure/unconditional social acceptance). All humans come into the world with ~the same mechanism to determine whether our need for belonging is met (as well as the assumption that we die without it)

I think It’s a combination of pushing back against climate change migration, gross disparity of wealth and an unwillingness to reflect on and resolve many nations flirtations with nationalism and fascism throughout history.

And so we're all looking to be in this "stable configuration" where we all belong -- where others really see, hear, and value us personally, where they're willing to protect us. But it's hard to get into that configuration, especially in our world (why is a whole other thing).
