I absolutely think a lot (most? nearly all?) trans people are trans because of default brain wiring or something, but I wonder what percentage are MtF cause they felt like they could never be a successful man, and because there's a clear community/path to acceptance for trans ppl

That which can be destroyed by the truth should be, but not everything that should be destroyed by the truth can be. This is a question for LW or SSC or another site where the cultural norms support seriously considering controversial topics without being considered signalling.

I am aware of this. However, the "extremely non-LW type community" you're talking about was the community you were wondering controversial things about. Especially given the non-existent content-sharing controls on twitter, this should not have come as a surprise.

but... LW has a ton of trans people in it. Like, disproportionately high. Like, I am ass deep in the rat community here and I know so many trans people through it.
