I absolutely think a lot (most? nearly all?) trans people are trans because of default brain wiring or something, but I wonder what percentage are MtF cause they felt like they could never be a successful man, and because there's a clear community/path to acceptance for trans ppl

Yeah, it's definitely not, and I think probably the stat is very low. Someone quoted a study that cited a rate of 0.47 for trans people regretting transitioning, which seems like a good 'in the ballpark' for non-trans people who transitioned for social reasons.
