I absolutely think a lot (most? nearly all?) trans people are trans because of default brain wiring or something, but I wonder what percentage are MtF cause they felt like they could never be a successful man, and because there's a clear community/path to acceptance for trans ppl

Ok so fair, there's more detail here - you're more likely to be a victim of homicide if your'e a black or latino trans woman, but if you're white then you're less likely.

If I had to guess I'd figure it's probably that white trans women who come out are more likely to live in wealthy liberal areas where crime is generally less likely. Relative to white people in those areas they're probably still more likely to be targeted.

Skimming the study I think he controlled for that, but not sure, if I have more time I'll check (and you're also welcome to check).

I suspect this is a correlation v causation issue where cis people are more likely to end up in spaces where they’re killed for other things, but being trans is also a risk factor.
