Also, I don't understand the pushback around this. If there's a small percentage of people becoming trans for other reasons, that seems like it would be insulting/threatening to real trans people, and wouldn't you want to call this out?

If people are pretending they have a view when they don't, and they bring up "false transitioners" in order to deceive you, then I understand why you'd be suspicious.
Idk how to make you believe me, but I don't see this as being incompatible with supporting trans rights.

Like, I think trans people are valid, they're often persecuted, and I want them to have good access to education and hormones and surgery, and in much of the world their situation is absolutely horrible.
I *also* think it's likely that at least some people are not truly trans.
And maybe anti-trans people cite that but I don't want to suppress facts just because sometimes they're used by shitty ideologies. I try to be like... ideology-ambivilant, like to be curious about and propose all ideas as independently as possible of the culture of who uses them
