I absolutely think a lot (most? nearly all?) trans people are trans because of default brain wiring or something, but I wonder what percentage are MtF cause they felt like they could never be a successful man, and because there's a clear community/path to acceptance for trans ppl

Where I’m from, trans people are mocked, ridiculed and abused to such a degree that volunteering for that seems unhinged. If you’re an unsuccessful man in search of community it’s easier to be an incel

Must depend on your community. Where I'm from if you're trans you'll be all but worshiped, publicly at least.

I've been in dance communities, so the places I'm thinking of comes from there - dance community in San Francisco and Boston are extremely, extremely pro-trans.

No, but it doesn't have to be all-encompassing to be significant. Church, for example, plays a huge and defining part in people's lives, without it also being the place where people shop, and you see lots of the radical religious motivated by simply that.
