Not that trans people have automatic community, especially in certain areas of the world, but that there is some visible and clear narrative around being a successful, accepted trans person that might appear to be more easily achievable than being a successful man, for some.

*especially* when it comes to men with more feminine interests, in more traditional communities where they might get derided for it.

Maybe some, but almost certainly such a small number as to be statistically zero. But this is certainly the sort of thing I've heard plenty of transphobes express as being 100% true of all trans folks. So in that sense it's not a helpful consideration yet overall.

"Clear community/path to acceptance for trans people" seems like a phenomenon that is, at most, limited to a few small communities at an extreme end of the political spectrum. Certainly not true for the median American.
-
I'm down to accept that, but I suspect in at least some cases, someone might feel that being trans will get 'trans pride' on their side, whereas they have no hope of getting any approval in that way by being male, particularly if they're "bad" at being traditionally male.

I used to think autogynophilia was a major reason to be skeptical until someone successfully explained to me that high autogynophilia was super consistent with non-trans women anyways
-
I'm having a hard time understanding the last part of that. Cis women typically spend time fantasizing about what it would be like if they had female genitalia?

On a related topic: if gender is a social construct (which I believe it is), how could one be born identifying as or attracted to a specific gender? I realize it’s probably an intersection of both, but nuanced arguments are very difficult to make.

Your Self, too, is a construct, yet you identify with it. "Construct" doesn't mean it's not real. Money is a social construct, but it's real, and very attractive to people
