men are better at science because they are more willing to take risks, and risking sounding stupid is how new and true conjectures come about

What makes you say men overestimate their intelligence? It could relate to an attempt to appear socially valuable? How has this been measured though? If women commonly underestimate their intelligence that's a travesty.
