Some women at a women's shelter, having been deeply traumatized by men, are uncomfortable around trans women. Would you support the shelter making a subsection for these women that excludes trans women?

With hesitation, I chose definitely not. My reasoning is that if we condone/encourage people to accept that discomfort, it doesn’t help to conquer their trauma, but prolong it or allows it to become a cyclical pattern. Also, judging others by what 1 person did is not ok.

*Private* rooms/areas, rather than validating some "people with trait X make me uncomfortable" dispreferences as valid/legitimate and not others Some people might have been traumatized by "people who wear hats" but I'm not gonna make whole "no hat" sections as a result...

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but wondering how you feel about the existence of women's shelters themselves, which are drawing a "private" area away from men - do you feel shelters should be nongendered?

No. Why? Let's try this: "Some white women at a women's shelter, having been deeply traumatized by people of color, are uncomfortable around blacks. Would you support the shelter making a subsection for these white women that excludes minorities?"
