I've been trying to interview 'enlightened' people and it's so hard because people's relationship with that word is extremely fucky. People are like "yes i am basically everything described by enlightenment but no i'm not enlightened" and I *get* it but it makes this hard

When "I" think of "enlightened" I think of people like Jim Morrison. Someone who was wiser than the average person for their age, interpreted life at an angle the most common of people would never notice themselves and had an eloquent way of conveying himself. He was majestic.

I would say the word “present” could be interchangeable. Someone who isn’t preoccupied with the past or future, but rather lives Now, and in a state of acceptance.

Enlightenment, if defined as freedom from self fixation, would inherently be signless and characterless. Those remarkable men and woman I have met I perceived as enlightened, were free from judgement and self concern. So it was impossible to grasp who they were.

The best measure of one’s enlightenment is how consistently they are in a state of nirvana.
