I've been trying to interview 'enlightened' people and it's so hard because people's relationship with that word is extremely fucky. People are like "yes i am basically everything described by enlightenment but no i'm not enlightened" and I *get* it but it makes this hard

Have you come across Ken Wilber? His books Integral Psychology, Integral Psychology and several others are versions of this project. Maybe you want to start from scratch, but his work is really great.
