I've been trying to interview 'enlightened' people and it's so hard because people's relationship with that word is extremely fucky. People are like "yes i am basically everything described by enlightenment but no i'm not enlightened" and I *get* it but it makes this hard

Cause I'm asking all around the internet for 'enlightened' people and people are quick to respond 'if anybody claims they're enlightened, they're wrong' and im like ok yes i understand however what words do you want me to use instead because obviously something is going on here

I've interviewed 6 people so far; so far I'm accepting everyone who claims enlightenment, no matter what. A few of them have insisted they're not enlightened, that enlightenment is nonsensical, but they want to talk about it anyway.

It's not just about "what words to use". What you're doing is like asking the humblest people on Earth to admit they're the humblest. They won't. What do you want to ask? I can extend your questions to some cool people I know.

I think a lot of people can get to "enlightenment" for the wrong reasons and find that it is hollow, leading them to question use of the word. Would, "highly aware, yet content" work for you here?
