i just watched the infamous exercise bike commercial and it seemed.... totally fine? A woman is happy because she was motivated to exercise and expresses this to her husband who gave her the gift. It didn't have any suggestion about weight loss or looking better.

Question about marriage: would it be reasonable for a woman to divorce her husband if he got totally out of shape, got erectile dysfunction, etc?

Just more people viewing things through lenses that allow them to be outraged. There was nothing wrong with the commercial. Like you mentioned, a woman expressed a desire to exercise, her husband paid attention to her needs and desires and gave her a relevant gift.

I have to agree seemed pretty innocuous to me. Would it make me want to buy a $2000 spinning bike - no, but I’m not the target demographic.

I don't like it...but not because it's "sexist." It isn't. It just fetishizes a 1st world problem. Either way, it shouldn't have garnered a "reaction."
