It turns out that, 5 years ago, Bob had pressed a button that eliminated all people in the bottom 1% quality of life, and also erased all evidence of their existence, as well everyone's memories of them.
You have the option to reverse the effects of the button. Do you do it?

I said yes but now that I think about it, we have no idea how badly off the 1% were, and this is conditional upon Bob wanting to erase them... so it points towards a very bad scenario.

Oh that's a neat setup. With no memory of events before first button, I'd be second guessing if what I was told the button does actually does the thing. Could be a dastardly lie!

If every memory and all evidence has been erased, how would you know? Like, if he got drunk and told me, I'd be all, "Yeah, Bob, sure ya did. You need me to call you an Uber?"

I'll be honest being part of the global top 10% means I can't fathom life at that bottom 1%, but at the same time I would never deny them their agency and assume they prefer none existence over life and I'd leave that choice to them.
