Difficult one. I think us wealthy humans need some level of discomfort and guilt lest we continue to destroy the environment and forget to look after those less fortunate.

Sure net happiness is increased, but this doesn't happen in a vacuum. The self-accepting part helps them perpetuate their behaviours with less ethical friction to give them pause. I wouldn't press it.

Yes, because 20% of 0 is still 0. I kid. Really, it's just that I think, while they might act unethically by retaining so much wealth, they're probably (statistically speaking)as good or bad of people as the rest of us. We all suffer. I'm not about making only my suffering better
