With the memory erasure aspect, is this specifically persons 'currently' living or erasure of lowest 1% from a historical timeline perspective? Seems that would have wild implications for humanity.

you don’t push the button because doing so doesn’t fix the reason why they were there in the first place. We need to learn what made them get into that situation and then work to correct things for everyone. Otherwise, others could simply take their place.
