What'd be interesting to think about regarding this question is what sort of death risk we incur with certain activities. Like, what's the risk of death when driving somewhere? What's the risk of death for higher risk jobs? I suppose that's your point, though?

Chronic pain, sooo, yeah. Ten grand would be worth a roll. I have an alternate way of asking the question. "You're in a group of 100, each assigned a number. They roll a D100. That number dies. The rest get paid. How much would you need to participate?

Even if your life to you is valued $20m (you'd accept a deal of $20m w/ say, 1 month to live), which is 8x $25k*99 it still might be rational to accept the .01,$25k bet if you don't have money due to increasing the timeliness & odds of catching a positive feedback loop.
