My government is slow and inefficient by design, so that the worst can be prevented simply because large chances to important concepts cannot be done over night and we have time to fight back. So while I trust neither, the government is easier to watch.

Also if you're more afraid of the government, it's probably because you know more about their mistakes. Corporations are a lot better at keeping those silent.

Currently with the way campaign finance and lobbyists go corporations almost ARE the government

Which is why its imperative to have a smaller limited government. If government is too small to over regulate and tip the scales in favor of mega corporations, the latter doesn't accrue the power to snuff out competition.
