Sure, but I want to know why that argument wouldn't be applied to justify a lot of other situations we consider bad because they involve struggle and suffering (e.g., abusive relationships)?

The same logic can follow that there is no meaning to the suffering (even if it’s very small for many) caused by monogamy and is therefore “insane”. I don’t see how monogamy generally has an benefit to a relationship beyond satisfying insecurities with no rational basis.
