Interesting! I don't see monogamy as suffering at all. Awkward first dates is suffering. One night stands with people who have no idea what they're doing is suffering. Most of my married friends are SO GLAD this is over. And you're telling me people sign up for this voluntarily?

But we don't say the same thing about Carl and Bob. If people get jealous over friendship, we consider that unhealthy - only when sex gets involved do we start justifying why the harm is worth it.
