no but i think people who answer no generally don’t care about it nearly as much as people who answer yes

It fascinates me how so many people believe gender is self-determined (when XY and XX chromosomes are so clear cut) but race, which is a far more complex and blurring concept, cannot be self-determined - because potatoes, I guess. #error404 coherence not found.

What else would it determined by? Race isn’t a biological category the way it’s used. It’s mostly a cultural category.

Gender and race are nothing more than self identification. There’s nothing “real” about them beyond that.

They are both categories, categories are made for people, not people for categories. We decide how we define categories and we do not have to define those two categories in similar ways if we choose not to
