Does anybody know much about keyboards? I want to buy one and have historically typed on laptop keyboards at around 130wpm avg; typical mechanical keyboards slow me down because the depression distance is too great. Looking for sleek, fast-friendly keyboard recommendation!

This has been my go to for about 4 years now. No loud mechanical shit, keys are short so typing the same key quickly is 👍. Their shortcoming is they die if you spill a tiny bit of liquid in them, I did break one by wiping it with a clorox wipe that was too damp lol

If you are used to laptop keyboards, try the external Apple keyboard. I want to like other keyboards more, but I don't.

Personally I really like my super tactile mechanical keyboard (clear cherry switches) because the actuation bump means I can easily type without bottoming out keys (so much less travel distance). That said, I use it primarily for joy, not speed.

I think you’re looking for “low/little actuation” I don’t know of a brand but I believe that’s the level of “pressure” you want to use on your keys
