Maybe it is killing a baby, but if killing a fetus = killing a baby then i'm fine with mothers killing their babies.

ok since people are getting mad at this, what I mean is: I don't care what language we use. Whatever "growth in mother at e.g., 3 months" is, I'm ok with the mother ending that, calling it a baby or not isn't the issue at hand.

E.g., I'm ok with killing in self defense. If you want to call it "BRUTAL SLAUGHTERR", that's annoying but like, the label you slap on it, however sensationalist, doesn't change the underlying thing I'm discussing. If you wanna call it BRUTAL SLAUGHTERR then ok sure whatever

Using lethal and deadly force agaisnt an innocent child is not self defense. Look up proportionality law.

She wasn't saying it is self defense... That was an alternate example to illustrate her point

Except no one calls self defense brutal slaughter. So it's an entirely irrelevant point.

In fact self defense is an almost universally accepted norm.

It doesn't matter... The comparison was not being made at the object level

It does matter. One is not comparable to the other.

I don't think you're getting me. self defense is not being compared to abortion here. The act of saying "killing a baby" instead of "abortion" is being compared to the act of saying "brutal slaughter" instead of "self defense". It's arbitrary that she used SD as an example at all

This is correct! Elsewhere I switched to the example of sexual assault because people were getting confused.

I wasnt confused. it was an inanallgous to compare self defense (which has a specific meaning and specific rules attached) to "brutal slaughter" (which is a subjective judgment and not at all a legal term)
