Most of the shit parts of twitter I've touched so far have been leftist/sjw ones, but I just accidentally touched a shit part that's super far-right/anti-woman and I don't know how it was so hidden from me for so long but it feels gross

When you were anti suffrage, what did you find to be the most compelling arguments for and against suffrage?

Was just about to ask this. Thank you for wording it better than I could have.

In this scenario does suffrage mean anyone's right to vote, or specifically women's? If the second case (which I think this is), a lot of people still have beliefs like this, they're just too scared to admit it until someone who has followers or power admits it first

Actually to understand the anti-suffragette movement, it is important to understand how it could be driven by concerns that, while wrong or dated, were not simply 'anti-women' and, indeed, seemingly had more support from women in the UK than the Suffragettes did.

You use to be anti-suffrage? I’d like to know more about this and your evolution away from it.

I would feel less lonely if people could imagine it! I was raised in a near-cult with super anti-woman beliefs that I bought into because our exposure to the outside world was mostly cut off (homeschooled, filtered media, etc.)
