I was watching All About Eve (1950), and there was an actress with a small part, few lines, and gorgeous face who I couldn't stop staring at whenever she was on screen. I looked her up afterwards and lo and behold it was then-unknown actress Marilyn fucking Monroe. I get it now.

It's crazy how subjective this is-- I expected to agree but came away even more convinved that Bette Davis is one of the only people from that era whose acting felt remotely natural.

I don't know if Marilyn's acting was good, I didn't mean that her acting was captivating, just her face.
