I've recently been exploring therapy for my productivity issues - three sessions with two different therapists, and have been disappointed and surprised to find that the sessions are significantly less effective than basic techniques many of my friends use to help each other.

if you haven't been to more than three sessions you can't actually say shit. That's not how therapy works. This tweet is a disservice.

Yes you really can. Not all therapists are created equal. Can you say after a few sessions if therapy is likely to help you? Depends. EG: therapist talks the whole time, therapist doesn't have credentials, therapist tells you you need to find Jesus to solve problems etc.

well you don't seem to want to understand so there's not much I can say. I truly believe in therapy, but even the best of therapists can't really do anything in two sessions. That's literally not how it works. It's a process

Ok i get 'therapy takes time,' but like... if i compare the same amount of time spent with a therapist to the same amount of time spent with my community's techniques, the latter seems to work way better for me.
