I've recently been exploring therapy for my productivity issues - three sessions with two different therapists, and have been disappointed and surprised to find that the sessions are significantly less effective than basic techniques many of my friends use to help each other.

It's actually hard for me to pinpoint? One example that comes to mind is something like generally high precision - 'where is that in your body' or spending a lot of time finding exactly the right word.

I wonder how much of this is just shared trust in our ability to introspect. Maybe my therapists felt so ineffective because they were used to working with introspection novices? With my community you can just jump right into sounding insane and nobody blinks twice.
